Acquittal
a prose poem
To write this prose poem, I opened a book at random and extracted 8 words I liked:
accusation misconduct letter shrubbery stained gauntlet torn disloyalty
Acquittal
An old letter, stained and torn, lies abandoned on the floor of the bare room. A book, a pressed flower, a linen handkerchief, also left behind.
She’s finally been released from the gauntlet of pain and outrage. The accusations of misconduct and disloyalty were nothing more than malicious lies.
At the end of the corridor, she steps through the doorway, out into the sunlit shrubbery, raises her eyes, and breathes.

Your imagination in choosing 8 words to make a prose poem blows me away!
Good!
