It’s peaceful here in these remote woods. It’s quiet.
I rarely see other people out here, but I don’t get lonely much. At least no one’s around to make fun of me or bully me. No one’s telling me I am stupid or ugly. I’m not a beautiful woman, I know that, but I’m definitely not stupid.
About a week ago a nice young man wandered by, a hiker. I was chopping wood for the fire, and he stopped to say hello. Nice young man, very respectful. I offered him a beer and he said sure and sat down on a stump. I’ve learned that men hardly ever say no to a beer or two.
He ended up staying here with me, and we’ve been having lots of fun. I mean, he’s not entirely settled in, yet; it may take some time. But I just know he’ll fall in love with me, eventually — I’ve watched enough Hallmark movies to know how it works. I just have this feeling about him, you know? And as soon as I’m sure he loves me, I’ll take off the chains.
LOL! Nurse Rached, at home in the woods. Very good, Sharron!
