I have always loved Eizer, with his tough exterior, and soft heart. For that matter, I love ๐™–๐™ก๐™ก of the folks in Riles Crossing! Iโ€™ve spent a little time in that part of California, and love to imagine it, in the timeframe that you write about. Such a GREAT story, Sharronโ€ฆ.all of it! ๐Ÿ’•

Thank you, dear heart! You had to sit through an excruciating number of drafts of this story and I take it as testimony to your love. ๐Ÿ’•

Anything from Bartle Clunes is a joy to read, Sharron. Thanks for reposting this.

It is a quiet, gentle, old-fashioned story โ€” on purpose. Sometimes we have had all the murder and car chases, angst, explosions and horror we can handle and need to enter a kinder world for a time. Thanks for your support, Ken.

Of course I remember Eizer. Always a pleasure re-reading your stories.

Thank you, Yael. I bring these excerpts back to Leaves from time to time. I hate to see these characters lost in the archive! ( They are my babies, after all. ha ha ha )

Thank you, Sue. I think this is as good a story as I can write. I love the relationship between the boy and the old man.

The story of Eizer and Eli is just one of the many heartwarming subplots in Bartle Clunes. I'm sure all of your newer subscribers would enjoy reading it. I highly recommend it!

Thanks, my friend, for these comments. I am afraid I've put this story in front of your eyes since 2022... but I hate for these sweet characters to just be lost in the bottom of the archive. I sold about 300 copies of the book, but I will not reprint. I will just continue to bring them back every once in a while.

Thank you. I'll continue to bring a few chapters out of the archive every year, as I won't be reprinting the book for a third time, and I hate that these kind folks are lost in the archive. I appreciate your understanding, Ron
