The Road Home
The drone of cicadas, a pebble in my shoe, stickle-burrs in my socks, and wild mustard blooming in ditches. Live oaks wave their tassels, gilding the landscape with a fine yellow pollen.
This summer-dusty road leads to my whole world - to my home and the man I love the best.

I loved your story and where it led. The beautiful and the annoying as you walk along.
And I've never heard of Nick Drake. Thank you for the introduction. There are so many "obscure" performers out there making stunningly beautiful art and music. Thank goodness for YouTube for bringing their legacies into the light.
