FOOTPATHS
How many trails my feet have trodden in this one short life!
From the rocky shores of Maine, to the Trinity Alps of California,
and the dusty lake beds of Nevada.
~~
These feet have carried me along the steep cliffs of Amalfi,
the cobbled lanes of Cologne, the ancient walls of Dubrovnik,
the bleak backstreets of Budapest.
~~
These feet explored the snow-covered heights of Aonach Mòr,
the echoing caves of Staffa, the squalid alleyways of Naples, and
the windy headlands of Orkney.
~~
How many trails my feet have trodden in this one short life, I do not know.
I only know that wherever they took me, they always led me back
to you.
Sharron, that's a lifetime worth of miles and experiences. What I love about the places you mentioned is the variety. You must have some great photo albums. Enjoyed this piece. - Jim
My wife and I finally figured out why we traveled. It was to experience the joy of returning home and all that it means to us. Since I subscribed to Leaves. I no longer have to physically leave home to travel. Sharron takes me on lovely trips through her words and photos. Thanks for sharing, Sharron.
