A Certain Fire
There was a time when every road led to him. I followed the scent of pine needles and patchouli, sage and manzanita. And there he was.
I see a photo of his face, and after all these years, the heat still rises in me exactly as I remember. A part of me will always be that blazing young woman in thrall to him - to his beautiful body and to his glad grace.
I’ve lived without him now for more than half my life. But the memory stays, forever fixed in the hidden place where the body meets the mind. A certain fire, laid deep, only asking to be re-kindled.
I truly loved this, Sharron. It made me smile, get nostalgic, myself, and squeezed my heart. Beautiful written; It reads like a poem. The first paragraph/stanza is lovely. (And so is the hottie in the photo!). Hugs!
"the hidden place where the body meets the mind." - Love that, Sharron! Some memories are etched deep within.
