We Californians pray for rain every year.
We dance in circles with feathered rattles,
chant our mantras on the shore,
bend our knees to the All-Providing.
~~~
We need the rain.
It purifies the air that we pollute,
washes the streets that we befoul,
fills the reservoirs that we overburden,
saves our forests from fires we leave untended.
~~~
Rain, a faithful guardian, a saving grace.
We dust off our umbrellas and wait
for rescue.

Floodgate is open prayers answered but what comes down must go up to evaporate. The cycle continues. Prayers will continue. Appears a caveat’s attached to tend to the earth mother of life that can still punish her naughty children.
California seems to getting more rain since I’ve left. Which is good. Drought restrictions in Southern California were getting to be a pain.
