Ahhh the unknowledge of the innocent young females! Such a contrast beautifully stated with the male.

First Date - Gals do such a good job of looking so good. It is a time consuming skill. But yeah, all she really has to do is - show up. Guys are easy.

The Gateway - Beautiful. I hope the water is warm. Reminds me of the nymph(s) scene in O Brother Where Art Thou?

Enjoyed these, Sharron.

There was a movie decades ago with Harrison Ford and Anne Heche where they quibble about man-woman requirements. He tells her all a woman has to do is show up. So, I loved your story of this poor girl's travail. All the prep involved. I hope he takes a page from Harry and tells her the truth.

And then, your beautiful water nymph. He'll never be the same. Loved these, Sharron. Thank you.

Thank. you, Sue. I often bring things out from the archive and rework them. There are so many stories, I hate to see them lost. You understand.

I certainly do understand. I do a lot of that too. It makes for an interesting exercise in detachment to take a decade-old story and update it for our current era. So many changes that make some ideas obsolete ... or at least stale.

Yep. I run up against that too. But we can usually work out some sort of update without compromising the story.

First Date: I have the feeling that most girls today don't really understand what is attractive to a boy and what is actually off-putting. I feel sorry for them that they feel they have to try so hard.

It is the scourge of advertising , TV, social media and online influencers. The young girls are taught to believe such utter nonsense. Thanks for your thoughts, Jim

How sad that she thought she had to hide all traces of her real self in the first story.

I imagine it is VERY common and that a lot of young women reading the little story can see them selves in the description. It IS sad.

Real beauty comes from within. I think the makeup and fashion is more about women competing with each other. The second story was borderline stalker except she felt his presence and accepted it. Going into the deep: that is what total commitment demands. Beautifully written as always, Sharron.

Thanks, KC. Yes! Taking the plunge means really having your head underwater at times. As for all that image foolishness, all that paint etc that some women hide behind? Fiddle-dee-dee!

The first story…soooo true! Women cover up all reality, and now they either have to do it for the entire relationship, or risk the phrase, “She let herself go.”

In the second story, the woman woos her man by covering nothing. She attracts him with her perfect self, nothing to hide. I like the contrast. Wonderful imagery in both!
