Gateway 1
She stands in a spill of moonlight. He watches her from behind the reaching boughs.
I see you there, she says softly.
I mean you no harm, he whispers.
Come, then. It is time. Are you ready?
I am, he answers. Yes.
Together they enter the gateway into the All-Unseen.
Gateway 2
Lying in the damp moss behind the gate, she trembles and tries to pull her torn clothing together.
The two young men, panicked, argue about what they should do with her next.
The only sure thing she senses, is that her life, now, will be forever changed.
As will theirs.
