Heh, never thought about how long it must feel in dog time whilst a dog sits there waiting for food.
Our cat is currently in an annoying habit of demanding food the very moment I'm awake, followed by frwsh water (even though she has a bowl), followed by attention, rinse repeat. I wonder what her perception of time is.
A little good-natured teasing keeps a dog sharp as long as it gets its reward in the end. And it's fun. I read this before breakfast. That photo sure stirred up my appetite. I settled for a bowl of raisen bran and a banana.
The games we play with our pets are very special. One of my cats likes to hide and then see how long it will take me to find her. No clues, she just sits there and watches me search and chuckles .
A dog can be patient. Right now I’m sitting at my brother-in-law’s, and his collie is watching me, waiting for me to throw that tennis ball again. He never tires of the game.
When I ignore Quinn sitting beside me, impatiently waiting for a handout, she stands up for a moment and then sits down again, really hard. That usually works.
I always have eggs in the fridge but I'm out of bacon...seriously considering a quick 1 purchase trip to the store. This is all your fault Sharron. - Jim
Being a dog is ruff. 😉
Some times the teasing is just arf-ul
They can really hound you.
'Nah. Where's the fun in that?' 🤣
I love your description of his eyebrows, Sharron!

Well, whatever time it is, it belongs to her and is only for her benefit. Cats! ha ha ha
Haha so true!

Hmmm... Let's see raisin bran or bacon? Raisin bran. ..or bacon? No contest, KC.
My dog, Dougy Sue, got a spoonful of peanut with her breakfast today. She’s still working on it.
Dougy Sue! I assume you mean peanut butter? Yes... that can keep them entertained for a long time.
Yes, peanut butter. My brain is faster than my fingers. Also, I really like the Afrikaans word for peanut butter. https://www.wordhippo.com/what-is/the/afrikaans-word-for-42820c10b1d3ab1839bf954b73444a628a4eed8e.html
Even I started salivating seeing that breakfast plate. Oh, that Crisp bacon!
ha ha ha. Life is fleeting, Yael. Go for it, I say.

Cute story! Thank you, Janice

Come on Uncle John, throw that ball!

You only have to give her a treat from the table, ONCE. She never forgets. Smart girl.
Exactly.
I know, right?
I do not write about dogs that beg- at least one of them thinks it is beneath her dignity and only does it when her life is on the line.
Smart man, smart dog! Thanks David.
I refrain from bacon, don't think it is a healthy food, but damn it I am salivating.
Oh, um, it was soy bacon....
Every dog I have ever had sat by my knee waiting and hoping something, anything, even a crumb would fall on the floor. Love this memory
A dog will hope for food until forever. Tenacious of spirit, always hungry.
Perfect, and so true!
Thanks, Linda. You know your dogs!

My apologies, my friend. So sorry to lead you astray...
;)
Really, "where's the fun in that?" Gotta make 'em work for it. Feel the stare, don't make eye contact.
You know your dogs, James Ron! You have a really cute one, too.
