I like the way you present Bartle and Louvina's love dance, so tender and tentative. The way you describe this place, I keep thinking it is set in frontier America. When I realize it is 1949, it blows me away. Of course, this is a rural community and culture, I've never found friendlier or more welcoming people than country folk. I am probably reading these chapter out of sequence, but I still enjoy them.
