She just wants her child. It is natural, right? She just hasn't thought things through. Our hearts overrule our heads sometimes. I am sad for all three of them.

That was my thinking AWW. I can empathize with Merlene and Eizer - Eli is so important to them both. My hope: they will find a way to work it out.

Well... Bartle Clunes is a good news kind of story for the most part. I hated giving any of these kind people any trouble. The ending is as it should be, I think, given the situation. Six more chapters to work it out, anyway. Thanks Janice.

Merlene has had a hard life. She makes bad decisions, breaks a few hearts, as we all have done at times. I am so pleased you like this book, James.

I was hoping Eizer would convince her to stay. But it sounds like she is too stubborn, proud, selfish, or foolish (youth) to consider it. Hopefully she will reconsider the offer.

I agree with you on this, Mark. I think Riles Crossing would be good for her. A home, a family, a safe community. If she is smart.
