I can just feel the positive energy from your conversation with the checker at this delightful little store. Just reading your story has uplifted my day.... ripples of kindness!

And thanks for sharing Neal Foard. My favorite video story teller!

How were the tarts? 😊

I am not great with attaching videos. Never know what will happen. Glad it worked for you, Kate. Foard has a lot of short video tales on Youtube. Uplifting and funny.

There was an elderly clerk in my grocery with quite thinning hair. She tried to dye it "maybe reddish" so the thin wouldn't show as much, and it was awful. I told her how BOLD it was to do the "Tropical Bird" colors. ))) She didn't like the result and was embarassed to show up at work. She didn't know what to do, so I suggested the local hairdresser could erase what she didn't like and put it right. She had NOT thought of that and smiled thinking her trial would soon be over. Next week, it was a pretty shade of auburn. ))) Another, different store, dark hair with white band close to her head. I complimented her "Adult Plumage" coming in. Each week there is wider silver. I tell her the silver is a beautiful clear shade, not dull or yellowish. She is liking it. ))) Mine turned silver when I was 12, 66 yrs ago. Finally got rid of the disturbing black stragglers. ))) It doesn't take much to make a smile.

Sweet story. Then his boss fired him for giving away merchandise. 🤣

I totally agree about service industry workers. They take a lot of abuse from entitled customers (and often, bosses) and don't get paid nearly enough. Enjoy the tarts.

Hi Sharron, It's so nice to hear those kinds of stories. We need lots more of them.

Yeah. I think so too. With all the horror that is drummed into us day after day. on the airwaves, we need a little counterbalance. So glad I don;t have a Tv...

You're right Sharron, it's a two-way gift. It's a good feeling to walk out of a store or restaurant with a smile on your face and know that you've left one behind you. That market looks like a place I'd like to visit!

Sometimes just looking right into a cashier's eyes and smiling - letting them know you SEE them and appreciate them is a gift. As an older woman, I often feel invisible and I don't like it. I counteract it by making sure I don't make others feel invisible. Thanks for your comment, my friend..

Good! Job done, then. Admittedly, it is not the best writing I have ever done, but I just wanted to put something positive out there amidst all the hopelessness out in the world. We do what we can, right?

Loved the dialog, especially, in this anecdote.

Those tarts must have tasted all the sweeter after this interaction. Keep treating yourself & others with kindness & spreading the word has a ripple effect.

Happy holidays, my dear friend.
