Re “Fatigue”, Omg I kinda pictured you having an idyllic life, writing your wonderful Leaves with metaphorical leaves of creativity, grace, and fortune falling onto and around you, and all while irresistibly engaging us. I feel even more irresistibly engaged now that I read you’re human! 😅😃

ha ha ha ha! Idyllic! I love this comment. Best ever. Remember, Karen: It's fiction, and my characters get to do all the things I never could. If you knew my age and history and how I live now. You might be surprised. Let's get together for coffee....

Definitely! Can you come to boring ole’ Marshall, Virginia for coffee? 😅 We can watch the cows, my pastoral pastime 🤦‍♀️😅

Not likely I will get back there. I have another friend who lives in Warrenton - I believe that is pretty close to you. Beautiful territory!

Oh do come!! You and your friend and I can have smoothies and coffee in the upstairs cafe at The Natural Marketplace! - Big beautiful old wooden house, turned into a health food store and cafe.

The first one is cute ... and what a great contrast in the second - really shows off your range.

Beautiful! And to lift the fatigue just a little, that fifty percent of the nation that is inexplicable probably thinks the same on 80% of life’s questions as does the voice speaking, so the fatigue can safely recede a little with understanding and tolerance.

Now you made me grin. I still think that was one of the best rebuffs I ever heard in a movie.

Good ones, Sharron. On the 2nd one, I wonder, which half is the mad half? : )

Well, the OTHER half is mad, of course. Thanks for reading James.

Some days are like that, Janice. But I will follow Scarlett O'Hara's lead and say "After all tomorrow is another day."

Ouch!!!! Sounds terrifyingly similar to what I go through almost EVERY day... The Father above could be of help. I said "could." (Sigh)....

I’m glad to see you survived the Atmospheric River! I’m back in Texas now. We visited Carmel hoping to see the Pro Am, but that was not to be. Carmel was blacked out on Sunday, so my wife and I spent the day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Our hotel comped us the last day, which was nice. We love adventure!

Oh! You were so near! I think the week's weather was very hard on a lot of people. Fortunately my family are all high above the sea and river and are safe. The winds were howling like banshees. Never saw any so forceful in my life! Lots of trees down

Thank you, Linda, for your comment. I know it was a little sappy, but I like a happily-ever- after ending sometimes. Don't you? I personally know three older couples who are living their happily-ever-after and it is inspiring to see them so close after 40 or 50 years.

Both wonderful, Sharron. I remember the first - and it's still gorgeous - and I can relate to rather too much in the second! 🤔

Thank you, sweet girl. Happy weekend to you. I hope you get out into a bit of sun. Sunny California has been raining for weeks. A good time to stay in and write.

I've seen California on the news over the last couple of days - scary weather! We had torrential rain all day yesterday - so much so that the kitchen sink stopped draining (temporarily, thank goodness!) because the pipes were all full! Happy weekend to you, too! Sending drier-weather vibes your way. ☀️

I continue to be envious of your ability to tell a COMPLETE story in so few words, Sharron. I haven't tackled a 50 (or 100) word story for awhile, but "Coffee House" and "Fatigue" inspire me. I love the form. Thank you for being a writer who sets a bar fellow writers aspire to reach. Hugs!

Well! I am going to just have to print this out and tape it to my fridge! You know, for those moments when I feel like a total fraud. Which is often. Thank you, Connie.

Oh, goodness, you absolutely should not feel like a fraud (though I know it's a standard affliction many creatives have). Your writing is so wonderful, Sharron, and I meant every word I wrote: PRINT AWAY! Hugs!
