Pic shows he lost a lower fang some time. It makes a delightful smile. KittyBoy has one just like it for the same reason. KInd of Pirate-ish. )) I laughed out loud the whole read. It is SO true!!! I buy cases of kittyfood cans of different flavors and shuffle them so they don't get bored. Hansel sniffs the first psst of opening like sommelier checking the wine. If he agrees everybody gets their share. The gravy goes first and the rest waits "for later". Dessert between. Can't live without cats. Great Warm Lap in the Sky... yes many there now. I'll keep that phrase from now on. Hugses, K
I laughed at the phrase “all his essential gear.” I suppose he’d earned the right to have essential gear, though I didn’t catch how old Ozzie was when he visited you.
Cats, as a rule, are not into change of any kind. Especially riding in cars. I have heard of a few exceptions, though. Good luck to you on your journey.
Wonderful read, Sharron. Poignant, funny, sad, a lot to reflect upon. "The way he drooled on [your fuzzy blanket, you] had the feeling he was under the delusion that maybe it was his mom." Wonderful words and wonderful (likely true) insights to that "old man." Thank you for sharing.
Yes, all true. With cats, you don't have to make up stuff for a story. They are already so funny and unpredictable.. Thanks for reading his story, Connie
Ozzie never made it back for a second visit. He died a few months ago, and we all were so sorry for it. He was good entertainment, no matter how crotchety.
Delight. Cats are real characters. Our doesn’t meow. It chirps like a bird. And likes to curl up next to anyone who sits on the couch. And to my delight, only likes dry cat food, not the stinky wet stuff.
I feel like incorrigible and cats go together! That was alot of understanding toward Ozzie's cat soul, Sharron! 🐈 We've had two cats, (in that great warm lap now), and presently have 2 dogs. Let's say there are no crumbs on the floor!
Just delightful, as always!
Ozzie was a good old cat, and the family miss him.

Pirate-ish! ha ha ha Right you are.

He was an old man and had a lot of baggage. But you get old, you get grumpy. Happens to the best of us.
Ozzie probably enjoyed your company! We have to travel soon with our cat. I can't see her doing anything but flipping out about the whole thing.

I suspect, when you weren't looking Ozzie might have let out a contented 'puuurrrrr', especially when stacked with you in the chair.
Oh yes, he purred. When he got his way. Thanks Rebecca.
I love Ozzie and his story. Has he been back to visit? You sound well prepared.

Awww - I'm sorry too hear that.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Ozzie.
Thank you, he was a good boy and lived to a ripe old age. He had the best life ever!

Oh he sounds like a fine companion. Does he chatter when he sees birds? Does he have a special meow when he wants out?
Same chirp always. He doesn’t like to go out and hides when it storms. I think he was a stray for a while and he is quite content to stay inside now.
I know this cat. I believe he is a cousin to our Raymond. https://sharronbassano.substack.com/p/scaredy-cat-737?
I have read that story. Our cat, Crispin, is definitely a scaredy cat. 🐱

I feel like a cat whisperer sometimes... Thanks Ron! And yes, dogs will eat anything anytime, anywhere!
😂
How lovely, Sharron - I really enjoyed reacquainting myself with Ozzie. Thank you.
Yes, I just had to bring him back one more year. He was a good old boy and really made me laugh. SO predictable. Thanks for looking at it again.
Meow
Can I come for a visit?
