Dive Bar
We ladies are pretty old now, but we still go to that dodgy old haunt from time to time, just to be amid the youthful exuberance, the ambient testosterone. It’s our favorite night out. We avoid trouble, though.
“You remember what trouble is, don’t you, Cecilia?”
“Nope.”
“Nah … me neither.”
A special dive bar anthem for all my readers of … well … a certain age. You know who you are. Willie at the age of 86 got it right.

brilliant! I shall adopt that song as my signature tune I think, because as a writer I have to live up to the general perception that all writers are basically egos on legs.
As for the attitude of the ladies in this story, it reminds me of my mum in her later years!
Holy cow! The bars I went to with my friend back in Utah aren't even there anymore. And I'm sure as hell not going to bars here.
Meanwhile, I saw a video recently of Mac Davis and Kenny Rogers singing that song, but seeing Willie do it is priceless. Sweet Jesus, Willie in skin-tight blue jeans .... oh my eyes!!!!!
