A golden retriever with a stick waiting to play in the sun with a mate that tosses and turns in her sleep while he wanders around, waiting for her to come pat the head, good dog.
I agree with you. I have never owned a dog, but have always been drawn most to the sweet-natured, gentle labs and retrievers. My idea of the perfect canine.
Cats... I think they may love us in a different way, but can be so very sweet. Have you met Kermit the cat? He has several videos - one of him purring for 16 minutes. Very soothing.
Beautiful. Makes me see my little Winnie's exuberant joy in a brighter light. May I never discount that degree of love.
Thank you, Annie! Woof to Winnie!

Thanks, Richard!
Unconditional love. 🐶
Yep! That's it.
Aw, that is beautiful!
Thank you Linda. It took me a while to find the message on this one.
I love how you captured the essence of what we mean to our dogs; our non-judging companions, our givers of unconditional love.
Thank you, Wade. I have never had a dog, but I have been friends with a few of them. It seems what you say is true.
Just gorgeous, Sharron.
Thank you, Rebecca. I look forward to your next post!
I miss my furry bedmates. Thank you for this, Sharron.
Well... there are a lot of lonely dogs around, I imagine, just waiting to love you!
I miss my animal friends and miss having them, but I don't miss the end game. I can't do that anymore. sigh
Yep, it's what best friends are for.
Indeed! Of whatever species. Thanks, James Ron
Waggle dogs are my soft spot. Lovely Sharron.
YOU have a waggle dog - maybe two of them? I have forgotten their names...
You are correct: Molly and the (locally) world famous Quinn.
Quinn - more wag, less bark?
Yes, and a big fan of 14 word stories. I'll have to bring those back for her someday.
Bring back the previous ones!
Waggle-dances: What a wonderful descriptor. Yes, dogs live for their masters and meal time.
.
Ready to eat anything at anytime! Ready to lick your face any time as well.
So true. Dogs are wonderful companions.
Another beauty Sharron! So much done with so little.
Thank you Tom. Short, yes. I figure anyone has time to read a one-minute story. Hah!
A golden is a special thing.

I had a golden retriever. There was no better dog. We currently have a chocolate lab, and he’s a ball of fun.
Oh, yes! Beauties.
I loved this sweet story. I think my cats feel the same way.
