O dear. I hope this isn't true. "Tenants" have their own lives, and that's fine, unless they overlap your own bathroom counter. The dress sounds cute eh? VERY few intruders into my own rooms, and I like it that way. My own "clutter" suits me well, but there is no room for extras I have no control over. Well writ. ))

Your description of the wardrobe contents and outfit characteristics produced in me the confused look people give when I give computer technical explanations…

Yes. Me, too! Hard to understand the behavior.

I was just talking about the terminology for women's clothes! 😁 I have the same problem with Louise Foerster's "Cinderella's Closet" series on Medium; fortunately I can just translate descriptions of dresses into "it was a very nice dress" and leave it at that.

Too true for so many….. I think they call it retail therapy….

I think they do. I imagine the "high" lasts for only an hour or two, though...

I have been guilty, Sharron, as you well know. Now we are spending our Spring UNdoing the retail therapy, with trips to charity and trashcans on the curb. My new therapy is a peaceful, clutter-free existence. It's working, and I can feel the relief, physically, and mentally. It's never too late to change. Thanks for the inspiring reminder, of why I am on this new path!

No things can ever be enough-can they?

Those things do create a mess in our comforting for some and destabilizing for others.

His recycling the only way to cure OCD when it’s clothing buying and other thing buying?

From my own 180˚ opposite persective, it is hard to understand it. Thank you Jill.

My perspective is the same as yours. Some typos I didn’t see in my comment. Things that have the most value are truth, morals, compassion, openness, not material❣️

I think a flounce is just so 2020. Has she no sense of style?

(Note to self: Google flounce tomorrow.)

ha ha ha. Thanks for that. I personally do not see a sense of style, just a sense of, shall we say, hunger?

Hi Sharron, Beautifully expressed. What is she hiding from or unwilling to know about herself? Maybe she is your housemate for a reason.

Thanks, Janice. The girl is a real sweetheart. We get along great. We just have different ways of coping. She amasses. I minimalize.

Things rarely satisfy for long (except guitars 😉.) But buying more is addicting. We are all probably guilty of it at times. I bought a lot of music-making gear in the past two years, but now I am determined to quit buying more and learn to use what I bought to its full potential.

So true, Sharron, something is missing and it ain't stuff. Wonderful descriptive writing. I particularly admired this one: a snarl of necessary chargers, adapters, hubs, wires, and who knows what all.

Buying and buying, for the dopamine rush. Hard to get over doing that unless you go broke, or find what can't be bought. Good one, Sharron!
