I’ve turned to pizza for comfort sometimes too, we all have to find what works. My bff’s favorite pizza has always been double cheese and pepperoni. Now she’s in a nursing home, not doing well. You made me think of bringing a double cheese pepperoni next time I visit her! (I made this fifty words for fun. Thanks!)
Love lost...your stories capture ways we experience that emotion in two different ways. You always amaze me at your ability to capture the essence of a feeling in just 50 words!
O dear and O o Dear dear. Two kinds of missed opportunity... or two kinds of dodged a bullet. Pizza and beer sounds like a good salve for both of them. ))
The wedding dress reminded me of Miss Haversham! (whom I haven’t thought about since high school freshman year reading Great Expectations). And also somehow made me think of my friend whose thrifty mother started buying her wedding gowns at Goodwill when we were in high school. My friend did wear one of them, at 21, in her senior year of college, in a beautiful wedding.
I was thinking of getting these two people together maybe next week? BUT I am at a loss as to what to do with Lightie's latest mountain photo... Haven't got one word down yet... Rats!
.. most elegant work.. ! brevity ! I’ve such a wealth of photographic imagery to share ! Feel free to drop me a line with a ‘topic, dream, vision.. a whatever.. & can expect a quick response.. Also wondering if sent a random image - would you interpret to suit or define an idea of yours..
Thank you, Thomas, for your comment. I am glad you liked this little piece. If you have your photos on line somewhere, I would be happy to have a look. Or you could pick out two or three to email me. I most often use photos of people in evocative or odd settings.
Good line, 'feeding the wrong hunger' - so true.
Thanks. Linda!

Cute, Karen! You are a good friend to bring a gift of pizza!

Thanks. Heather. These two stories had something in common, didn't they? I hadn't intended it. It's just the way they told themselves.
No anchovies for me, please! And I hope she finds the courage to try again. Very nice, Sharron.
I will take the anchovies AND the courage, if you please. Thanks for hanging out at 🍁Leaves every week., James

Wow!, I hadn’t thought of the “dodged a bullet” commonality.
Shall I bring the two lonely people together? One more little follow up story...
You pegged it. Now I need to add a third episode where these two people find each other....
The wedding dress reminds me of my own. Never worn. I did get married but not in my dress!
Awww ... Sorry to hear that about the dress, Kristi. Are you keeping it?
I've had it for 17 years so, yes lol. I'm a keeper of special things.
Heartbreaking, Sharron.
Ah well... I get in a melancholy fog sometimes. I always snap out of it though.

Funny how this little story brought up so many memories for you! Thanks, Karen.
Feeding the wrong hunger! Great line, Sharron! Thanks for that. Happy to see my photo sparked your imagination. Inspiring!
All three of the photos you shared this week were wonderful! Thanks!
'Except anchovies'? Sharron, I'll take him.
Beautiful, goosepimpling, glorious, both. Chills!
Wowie! Thanks,Rebecca!
Sad tales of real life. Well done. But there is always hope for tomorrow, right?
You bet, Mark! Up and down. High and low. Life is constantly shifting. Teaches us not to get too attached -- to either the pain OR the joy.
And that is the truth of it "you can only do what you can do!"
You and I know this for sure!
“He knows he is feeding the wrong hunger “. That’s inspired!
Put that computer away, Jim! This is your time off week to go have fun.
Such sad tales. The wedding dress is a strong image. I hope she finds “the one” someday and gets a chance to wear it.
