A little morning romance for those of us who still believe. The incurable ones. Thank you, Kim.

Ah, Kate. The romantic heart does not age. It is still beating vigorously in both of us.

Perfectly, perfect, in every way. Your very best, Sharron. Beautifully unfolded … the gazes, the inner voices, the notes … the exasperated ‘olds’ sighing contentedly as the soon-to-be lovers connect. Delightful. Molto bene! [chef’s kiss]

Aw, Barrie. Thank you for this sweet comment. I have a great affection for Italy, especially for the people in the smaller towns and villages. I hope my affection came through in this writing.

Totally; I was feeling a multilayered love story … setting and scene! Scrumptious. Bellissimo

What a sweet story! I needed that right now.

Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words! Welcome to 🌿LEAVES! I hope you find more micro-stories here that you like. I have many little stories with impressions of Italy. On the home page, click on TRAVEL at the top of the page.

A beautiful little romance, timeless and innocent. You should send this to Meg for her new romance substack.

Glad you liked it, Jim. I hope the bits of Italian language didn't get in the way of understanding. I DID send it to Meg. Her new newsletter The Romantic has been just full of great romance-writing advice. I am practicing with some of her suggestions. Smart woman.

Absolutely delightful. Oh, the courage it takes to begin a romance. Finalmente!

Thank you, Sue. Yeah, these two were not exactly suited to Tinder. They could hardly speak to each other, they were so shy and cautious.

They probably didn't want to upset the grandfather and aunt. LOL

Hah! Maybe so!

I've lived in apartment buildings and know others only when passing in the halls but I never lived in such close environs as in your story. I can imagine the relationships formed when you only see your neighbors through windows across the streets and courtyards and on balconies. How romances begin and go further is indeed romantic.

Ah well, Ron, it's part of our vast fantasy-life, isn't it. You met you wife in a very romantic way. I loved that story.

Lovely. In most stories, the girl takes the initiative. Girls are usually bolder. This was nice. Thank you.❤️

A quiet little story of how , with a little patience, love wins! So glad you read it, Yael. Thank you.

The addition of the father and aunt and their reactions added a bit of humor and bodes well for the success of the relationship. A tender love story, Sharron.

Old fashioned, I admit. But I like a little happily ever after sometimes. Thank you, again, KC, for your kind comments.
