Perhaps we could all use some pavement time to put things in perspective.

It's been a rough couple of weeks and it will continue for a long while. We defitiely need a way to cope. Deep breath. Gaze at the stars.

My strategy for decades has been to ignore politics and the news as much as possible. Surprisingly, the world seems like a better place when you don't have people continually telling you how awful it is.

My feeling exactly. I only want to hear about things I can actually DO something about. Otherwise the worry is pointless. IMHO.

That's a fine line to draw but an extremely important one.

We’re with you … I stay ‘aware’ but not following it … there’s calmness to be found in going information-lite.

Yes. You can’t miss the important things, you will hear about them, but the daily garbage is not necessary.

WOW! That was perfect space-out music. thank you. That and Utopia both allowed me to just relax and tame the monkey brain for a few minutes.

Yes, I find it so, too. Both pieces are by the Danish duo, Bremer / McCoy, one from the Utopia album and one from the Enhed ( unity) album. Thanks for reading at Leaves!

I also liked the story. It's been frequent that I've gone into the garden when I wake up at three or four in the morning, troubled by some dream, and found solace in looking up at the Universe. "And when my spirit's free / I'll roam Eternity / I'll mingle with Your stars and suns ....

That's a couple of lines from the unofficial Baha'i wedding song back in the day. I sang it at Brian and Ann's and Jolene and Bill's weddings.

After that wonderful release from a vertical view, I've closed my eyes and let the horizontal flow in!

If it wasn't so cold, I just might go outside and lie on my back and just gaze at the sky, myself. Nice!

Bundle up! There is a great big sky waiting for you that might put things into perspective, CJ.

I’ll be looking at the sky tonight, Sharron. All the therapy in the world, can’t compare to a few minutes pondering the vastness of the night sky. I will not be lying on my back, however. I don’t want to have woodland creatures walking on my face…ha ha 🐰🦊🦌🐈🦨🦃 (the turkeys are the worst!).

Lying down in turkey poop on the grass, is probably not too conducive to contemplation…. just saying.

A couple of times a week I go out on the porch in the middle of the night and look up. Such a brain-boggling mystery out there, I seem the let go of the small stuff in here — I recognize their smallness.

Superb integration of graphics and text. A change of perspective makes all the difference. Infinity is humbling.

Thank you. Humbling, indeed. I love the Bremer/McCoy music and thought this little wistful piece was just right.
