Here is a mystery from 🌿LEAVES, just to give you something else to think about, besides the state of the world, for exactly one minute.
Leland walked into the reception hall about six that evening looking like he’d been flattened out and run through a shredder.
His mother ran to him and cried, “Lee! Oh my God, we were so worried. Where have you been? What happened to you, sweetheart? Are you okay?”
His father said, “We waited until three o’clock, son. We didn’t know what to do, so we just thanked everyone for coming and told them to come on over to the hall, eat, drink, dance, and have some fun.”
Leland scanned the large room looking for Meredith, hoping she was not there. No such luck. She was standing in her white dress in the corner by the window, staring at him, smoldering with fury and indignation, wishing she had a pistol.
“This had better be good,” she snarled.
Whatever happened before his arrival is NOTHING like what is about to happen. Ya, he's doomed alright.
