Thank you, Scott. Both you and I were greatly affected by our mothers as children. Your story is indeed a heartbreaking one. We had a rough life, but mama was always there for us in the very best way she could be.
Thank you, Olga. I am trying to write her life now as brief episodes, so it will not be forgotten. Her stories are in the Katy Memoir at the top of my home page. A lot of adventure there!
"Katy married the wrong man - a handsome young soldier who had no dreams to speak of, no drive, no plan… and an inordinate love of drink. " I've known a few similar cases, and two of them had very negative outcomes, Your mother must have been made out steel and a fighter. But, I also know she looks down upon you and she's proud you're her daughter!
Sharron, this post is everything to me today. What a terrific tribute.
'She said she was going to live forever.' And she does. In her words, in your words, and in your heart. Heck, in my own heart too - because over the months that I've been reading The Katy Memoir, part of her has pitched camp right in it. ♥️
'Brave and kind' is an incredible combination. I've just written those words inside the front of my journal. xxx
Aww, Rebecca, now you've gone and done it. You've made me cry. I always like to think the tears are over, but they never are. Katy would have been thrilled to know you like her stories, as am I.
Wow! Thanks so much, Jenise. I was not sure if others, aside from family and friends who knew her, would find her stories interesting. I appreciate you so much for having read them and for your comments.
What an amazing woman. Thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute, Sharron
Thank you for reading it, your worship.
:-D
Excellent story about your mother. Thanks.

What a beautiful tribute to your mother. The more I read about her I find myself wanting to learn more about her life.
Thinking of her - and you - today!
Thanks, Justin. She was a good old gal and is sorely missed.

She was courageous and knew how to survive. She was not afraid of work. And she loved her children fiercely. Her spirit live in us.
A beautiful story and an adventurous life! She lives on through you, Sharron.
She taught me a lot of important life lessons - as all mothers do. I miss her.
Such a special lady!
She had her failings as we all do, but she was brave and kind.
What a remarkable woman. And a touching tribute by a loving daughter.
Thank you. Yes, she was.

I'm so sorry, Sharron - sending you a virtual hanky across the pond right now. Hugs! xxx

Your mom was very special and it was an honor to meet her. These stories about her are very amazing 😍
Thanks for remembering her, Patrick. I just realized she was your neighbor for over ten years!
Sharron, I love this "birthday present" to your mom so much!
So many memories, I've read the series, and you captured them all so very well.
