Thank you, Scott. Both you and I were greatly affected by our mothers as children. Your story is indeed a heartbreaking one. We had a rough life, but mama was always there for us in the very best way she could be.

Thank you, Olga. I am trying to write her life now as brief episodes, so it will not be forgotten. Her stories are in the Katy Memoir at the top of my home page. A lot of adventure there!

What a beautiful tribute to your mother. The more I read about her I find myself wanting to learn more about her life.

Thinking of her - and you - today!

"Katy married the wrong man - a handsome young soldier who had no dreams to speak of, no drive, no plan… and an inordinate love of drink. " I've known a few similar cases, and two of them had very negative outcomes, Your mother must have been made out steel and a fighter. But, I also know she looks down upon you and she's proud you're her daughter!

She was courageous and knew how to survive. She was not afraid of work. And she loved her children fiercely. Her spirit live in us.

Sharron, this post is everything to me today. What a terrific tribute.

'She said she was going to live forever.' And she does. In her words, in your words, and in your heart. Heck, in my own heart too - because over the months that I've been reading The Katy Memoir, part of her has pitched camp right in it. ♥️

'Brave and kind' is an incredible combination. I've just written those words inside the front of my journal. xxx

Aww, Rebecca, now you've gone and done it. You've made me cry. I always like to think the tears are over, but they never are. Katy would have been thrilled to know you like her stories, as am I.
