You spin a good alligator tail and bet you’d will have a fine time watching‘gator wrestling. Tossing and turning reptiles over in shallow water. Seminole slinkies I’d call the practice. Then go for an air boat ride in the Everglades, but no hand’s dragging in the water. Too tempting for‘gators snapping.

No hands dragging, for sure. I haven't had Haylene and Marla out on the road since July, so I brought back one of my favorite adventures. We all need a good laugh right about now, don't you think?

The “notel” was, indeed, the perfect place for a fling! Very fun, and sprinkled with a bit of raunch, this is a great story! I love these ladies, Sharon!

I have to shamelessly admit I like them , too. They are both alter egos for me.... Thanks, Sharon for having a second ( third? ) look.

A bit of a tantalizing tale….. I think I recognize the bar (or several like it) from my much younger days….

Yes. If you get nostalgic, Wade, you can just head over to the local dive bar - Brady's on Seabright.

I know you have visited these women several times, Ron. Thank you for that, friend! They still make ME laugh, but I don't know about anyone else....

Two free tickets to an alligator wrestle? Hot.

Thank you. HOT is just what I am aiming for with the continuing road trip of Haylene and Marla. They do everything I do not have the guts to do. They now have their own section at the top of my home page. Seven or eight adventures, I think. I mean, whenever you need a bit of irreverence and a good laugh head their way.

Have you seen the restaurant scene in the movie Hell or High Water where the old waitress, when asked how she was doing replied, “ Hot and I don’t mean the good kind.”

Oh yeah, I have seen that one. That old gal had them in total submission in less than one minute.

She’s precious, and I mean that in a good way! She really knows her craft. I recently rewatched No Country for Old Men where she played the afternoon desk clerk for a hotel. It must be where she works after her shift at the cafe, and she’s just as feisty. In fact, I wonder just a little if we’re not seeing her in real life mode!

I suspect her characters wouldn’t have much use for the finer points of feminism. I’ve know women like her, and they don’t need anyone to help them do what they have decided to do. A lot of the old Russian babushkas I’ve known are feisty old gals, too.

Now there's a decision challenge. Alligators or the next town down the road? What to do what to do?????

Wow! Thanks. I like Haylene and Marla. I have admit I , myself, have to laugh at some of the things that come out of Haylene's mouth. I would like to know her, as we are nothing alike. There are seven or so stories about these two ladies in their own special archive, shown at the top of my home page. If you need a laugh. And who doesn't?

Good Grief! my deary, How do these women find their way into your brain? Good thing they don't stay, and fall out on your paper. I can't even think that kind of rowdy, but its fun to read. ))

Kate, I just let these two women do whatever they want. I like the partnership of the 20 year old with the 45 year old. A good balance. Haylene is definitely the bad influence, but she has a good heart.

I enjoy reading about the adventures of Haylene and Marla. The back-and-forth between Haylene and Jerome sounds authentic with its flirtatious humor. Poor Marla got stuck with crude Alfonso. I like your easy, matter-of-fact voice in telling these stories. It matches the attitudes of Haylene and Marla who seem to go with the flow of events.

Thanks, KC. It is my favorite series. We new writers are endlessly admonished to "Show, don't tell." The amount of telling in the Haylene and Marla stories is heavy, and I know that, but for some reason, it feels right to me. Sometimes I think the "narrator" is having as much fun as the two women.
