Am I limited to one comment? Sheesh! I've got comments not only coming from my fingers typing these words, but also from my unrelenting brain, which buzzes with thoughts and emotions.
What DID happen to 'happy ever after?"
Or was that a Disneyesque figment of our collective imagination? And you spur it back into the present.
There is a actually a writing genre called HEA - happily ever after. Hallmark stories, for example. I wish I could write them, but my head doesn't work that way, apparently. Thanks for being such a loyal reader, Jill!
"I believed all of it … and ran like hell." -- such a great line! I figured something twisty was coming at the end and it didn't disappoint! Great, Sharron.
"Better to have loved and lost, than to have lived with the psycho for the rest of your life," I've heard it said....seriously, you do have a way with love stories. These are short and brilliant!
Two fantastic tales, Sharron. They've made me grateful for the knowledge that everything a person goes through adds another layer to the person they are today.

Thanks for the mindplay moments!

My head doesn't work in Hallmark-style either!
story one: And ran like hell.... ))) Smart woman.
Photo: Yeah, stuff happens.
Clingy, needy men.... they are so exhausting. Learned my lesson, that's for sure.
O dear. Sorry to hear you had one of those... hope it wasn't long.
Nope. Not long. Life is too short.
I managed to miss that bullet, but it took living with him for six weeks to find out. Best marital advice ever ... living with 'em.
👍🏻. Thanks!
Hmmmnnnnn. Poignant stories for me at this moment…. Although, everything happens for a reason, and generally for the best.
The course of true love rarely runs smooth, they say.
That is my question. What happened to happy ever after? Is there such a thing?
Hmmm... I am guessing there is only one real ending and though it is forever, it is not always happy. Thanks for reading, Janice
I wish I had ran like hell a few times. Luckily I am safe now.
Phew! Close call.
Bolt - He was just a bit too clingy?
Fragments - Maybe they can be happy now?
Ha ha ha - right you are!
BTW - I hear you have a BIG lizard roaming around in one of your county parks. : )
Wait! What? YOU are the one who knows all about Lizard Kings, not me. Lizards in Santa Cruz??.
Oops, wait, sorry. Ha! I misread. Santa Clara county, not Santa Cruz. I looked it up. Here is a link - https://www.msn.com/en-us/pets-and-animals/wildlife/giant-invasive-lizard-found-loose-in-bay-area-park-officials-say/ar-AA1Gjh7O . Not quite Florida, yet. : )
Eeeeek!
Did Happily ever after really exist? And the first woman, smart and learned from past experience. Good 50s, Sharron.
Thank you, Ms. C.
#1: Yeah, clingy is not a good attribute for a guy.
#2: I think I have probably been in a few torn-up pictures. It takes a while to get to happily ever after.
Thanks for giving these 50s a second look, my friend. And I am certain J. Cummings broke a few hearts, probably from the age of 15 on.
"I believed all of it … and ran like hell." -- such a great line! I figured something twisty was coming at the end and it didn't disappoint! Great, Sharron.
I've had a couple of close escapes myself. Phew! Maybe we all have. Thank you, Nathan.
First story: good girl! Second story: something sad happened !
Love's illusion, right? Thank you, Yael, for being such a faithful reader here at Leaves. It means a lot to me.
These are excellent, Sharron. That final line of the first story is perfect—and the correct course of action, ha!
👍🏻😬

My love stories! I bit manic-depressive, I have to say.
Yeah, run away. That bolt is too possessive. What happened to love ever after? Bolt! Both stories are beautifully written, Sharron.

Yes, whenever life is brutal , I just keep telling myself that. Always seeking the Good.
