I love the outline on the bedspread that includes the tail! He is a funny boy. Very playful and at the same time, skittish. He wouldn't dream of killing a bird - much too lazy, BUT if a bird knocks himself senseless on the window, Ray will go running out and bring it in as if HE caught it.
Very flattering that you wrote this for me and Jim, thank you! You have captured purrfectly a day in a cat's life. The bedspread pic made me laugh because whenever we make the bed from the bottom sheet up, having washed all the sheets and stuff, it is inevitable that a cat will deposit themselves right in the middle of the bed. Even if we then proceed to put a sheet over them they will just sit there until THEY decide to leave! 🤣 Again, loved the language, eg "shrilled"
I'm glad we can disagree and still be friends, Sharron. Seriously, I don't dislike cats and old Raymond looks like a sweet boy. Maybe Terry can draw a portrait of him for you. He's very good at cats. Someday, I will have to write my cat story. Looking back on it now it's hilarious but it wasn't funny to me at the time. Anyway, thanks for the dedication Sharron.
Even though I'm not a cat person, I almost wish I had one so he could recreate the cat under the bedspread - priceless! My daughter in Atlanta has 2 - Pushkin and Mothe - they have some purrfectly cat-astrophic stories of destruction.
Ray sounds just like my cats. We are having a break through at the moment, Bella, the more traumatized rescue cat has decided to come out of hiding - for the first time in three years. She has trust issues for sure.
Thanks Terry. We've had cats in our family for over 50 years and Bella has been the biggest challenge. She was doing pretty well when my husband was alive - they were buddies. His not being here was re-traumatizing and it has taken her quite a while to recover.
Oh, poor Bella. Sorry to hear that your husband is no longer with us. I know it's not the same, but we have a cat whose brother died. He lost 20% of his body weight in just a few weeks. We had to get more cats to keep him company.
Hi Terry, It's true, when a cat loses a companion, animal or human, he or she most certainly grieves and reacts to the changes. I sure saw it with Bella.
God bless all the chicken-hearted of this world!
The carpet makes a good camouflage. ))) Ditto the bedspread. )))

Atta boy! No sense getting the fur all rumpled. Bird lunch for free is a good thing. )))

Cats! I don't live with one any more. Raymond is my boy's cat. A real joker. Thanks for reading this foolishness, Terry!
We'd feel bereft without cats. Mind you, I'm already at the bottom of the pecking order in our household 🤔
I am sure... but has it made you bitter? I think not.
I am bitter and twisted, that's all I can say on the matter. You will find out more in one of my forthcoming experiments in style.
Can't wait for that! ( I have no twists, but bitter is my middle name. )
The story and images made me chuckle all the way through! 🤣 Thanks for the laughs, Sharron.
Raymond is a very funny boy. Very social and playful. But he is sort of a big baby when presented with loud noises. Me too, now that I think about it.

Let's hear your cat story! Sounds dire. But be careful. Cat lovers are a sensitive lot, I am told.
Thanks, Jim. I have to know a cat before I can draw him/her. Otherwise my drawing would be superficial .
Cute!
Thank you, Linda!

PS - Raymond looks adorably cute.
Raymond is pampered more than any cat deserves. A full member of the family. But he IS sort of a sissy.
We have a cat who likes to help us make the bed by not only lying on the bed but lying under at least one of the covers. :).
Oh yes, very helpful creatures. Hah!
Ray sounds just like my cats. We are having a break through at the moment, Bella, the more traumatized rescue cat has decided to come out of hiding - for the first time in three years. She has trust issues for sure.
Thank you, Janice, for rescuing. You have already earned your place in heaven.
That's fantastic. You must be doing a great job with her.

LOL! You nailed it, Sharron. Cats are just weird. I know mine is.
Yes. Raymond is weird. You never know what will send him flying. He has many redeeming qualities, though. Glad you liked it.
Funny and so sweet, Sharron, thank you! I miss our tuxedo kitty, Morgan Earp, who died of old age in 2011. He was the opposite of timid.
If love could have kept little Morgan alive, he would have lived forever.
Glorious, Sharron! LOVED it! Although.....
*coughs*
*whispers*
...I'm not even a cat person....
Cat-person or not, you have to admit he is a little weirdo. He's my son's cat. (cough, sneeze, itch)
we will convert you, o hard-hearted one
I love the term "chicken-hearted".
Cats are so delightfully enigmatic.
And those amazon trucks DO sound like strangled geese. Thank you for putting that into words for me. 😂
Thanks, Meg, for your comments on this bit of fluff. Much appreciated!
