As the ferry neared the small dock, I spotted him standing at the top of the ramp. We were finally meeting and we were going to spend two days together...
Well, you did throw us a curve with that "one small detail". : ) And I was close on the meaning of "Ban Sith", but off a bit on "bunny-boiler". Thanks for the new words! I much enjoy your easy to read writing!
I have had a 20-year romance with this pair. Real sweethearts. And you leave with new vocabulary. Not sure in what context you would ever use bunny-boiler and Ban Sith, but you never know. Thanks, James
Second reading for you! I have been bringing a few pieces up from the archive dungeon to share again, since my readership has more than doubled since last year! ( O Joy!)
Oh! Thank you so much Janelle. Ardnamurchan is a wild and sparsely populated place- mostly sea and sky. I think we should both pack our bags right now. Life is short.
Beautifully written, Sharron. I love reading about your travels. I must share that the bacon butty bit made me guffaw. 🤣 (I never get a chance to use that word!)
Thanks for bringing me on yet another fun journey.
It is not uncommon to walk by a bakery in Scotland and see a sign taped to the window advertising BIG BUTTS. The first time I saw it I had to go inside to buy one just to see what it was. Large buttery rolls. Now that ought to make you chortle.
I LOVE this! I'm so glad you shared the link with me Sharron. You're right, for a fleeting moment I did think romance would play a part but I almost love more that it didn't. Just two humans from across the globe meeting because they're human. I've had many of these types of encounters and they're always soooo worth it!
A great travel piece!
Thanks Linda. A second go-round for you. It is a lovely part of the planet, that is for sure.
I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this piece. Uniquely presented and beautifully written.
More!
Here you go,Jim! Be careful what you ask for... HAH! So glad you liked visiting Ardnamurchan with me.

Thanks for the link. Just read Hitching A Ride In Tuscany. Another great one!
I was just teasing you. Ignore that link. You have ENOUGH to read and -- if you are like me, will never get caught up.
No, I really enjoyed it.

Awww! You sucked me in with the winsome words…. And then threw in a twist. Fantastic.
Hah! Got you! Thanks for reading me, neighbor!
I love and greatly admire your travel writing, Sharron - this post was a gorgeous read! Thank you.

Yes - it was lovely to have found it in my inbox again - thank you so much! And yeah to your over-doubled readership - that's terrific news! 😊
You managed to work a FATAL ATTRACTION reference in there.
Nice!
Yes, I did. Or rather Fiona did. She made us all laugh.
The sense of place in this piece is wonderful, Sharron. You're making me want to go there right now!

Sounds utterly idyllic. I'll see you there

Lovely photos, BTW.
