It’s time to shake off convention, to slide the watch off my wrist and not do time. Stop measuring the minutes ticking by. Count blessings, not the tocks and ticks. It is high time I got off my high horse and let you decide what you do with your time.
I vote for option 2, but without the wine, lifetime teetotaler that I am. However, since every man must believe in something, I believe I’ll have a slice of apple pie.
The day begins cup of coffee and time to lie on the grass , count clouds forming draw shapes in a notebook enjoy sound of birds and chat with squirrel. Got a big day ahead.
For me, of course (as I’ve annoyingly said too often here), it’s time to drive to Cincinnati to visit my BFF of 40 years. I have two suitcases packed, so it’s time to load the trunk of my old Olds and get on the road. What is holding me back… why am I procrastinating…
My guess is that you want to remember her as she was when you first met her, not as she is now, possibly much diminished. And vice versa. It is a natural feeling, I think. However, I have an old high school friend that I see once ever 5 or 10 years or so, and no matter how time has ravaged us, we are always giggling 17-year-olds when we meet. Our younger, healthier selves are still in there.
It's time to indulge myself in an hour of diving into my Substack inbox while savouring a cup of pre-going-to-bed tea. So glad that this post was here waiting for me!
Time to spend….spend on visits with my kids (ha! kids….they’re 45 and 50 years old!) and grandkids, because the time for visits is growing shorter, and my time without them has been too long. What I have is time. Time that is free, and wasting it, too costly!
Time to feed the kitties and me, then put the tax numbers in the little boxes on the yellow sheet.
REnted the last apartment yesterday.... signed and paid ))) So I am free to do what I wish. ))))
Freedom! I will drink to that. Thank you, Kate.

This is so clever, Barrie. Thank you. As for myself, I mostly decide in favor of the "nap on the sun porch" option...
Excellent option!
Loved this!
Aw, thank you 💛

Always a good time time for pie, Switter. Happy hiking, sir!
Hi Sharron, I suspect you know what my answer would be. But, truth be told some days that glass of win and a good book sound awfully enticing.
Janice, I love your typo. A glass of win!
And I think I will just leave it that way - along with the glass of wine.
I’m so glad! I love both, but lately a glass of win is rarer around here than a glass of wine, so it’s the ‘glass of win’ for the win! 🏆
"Bartender! One glass of wine and two glasses of win, please. It's been a tough day."
I'm with you - I'll take two glasses of win any day.
Ah yes, the question evey retiree has to answer - get something done, or relax and enjoy the sun!
And the older I get, the more I choose the latter.

Mornings should allow time for all that.. And maybe mid-day as well?
Love the twist, and recognizing we all have choices to make.
What time is it for YOU, Wade?
Mostly I do the relaxing without the wine…..
Smart man.

Oh that is such wisdom. The last time I was out there, I did find myself longing for my old friend inside of the person as she is now. 😘

Ah, yes! Time for a little self-indulgence. And why not, I say!?
Time to....do my taxes. Uggh.
Hah! Sorry! Arrange a reward for yourself when the chore is done. At the very least, a day of lounging about in your bathrobe.
That reminds me, Time to...buy a bathrobe.
Ha! 😂
Your neighbors will be thankful.
I'm sipping on a glass of cabernet while reading this, so I guess there's the answer. :-)
Cabernet was on my list today as well. Cabernet and two games of scrabble with neighbors. I never win, but after two glasses, who cares?
🍷🍷 cheers!
Time to start reading more 😉
Hear! Hear!
Why does it always seem to be the first option?
Resist! I have every confidence in you!

Oh, I get this, Sharon. Free time is not free if it is wasted, that is for sure. Time to connect more often with our kids. I know!
It’s almost time to give my son a bath! 🤣
