Thank you, Debbi for traveling out to Riles Crossing every week until the end. I am sorry the story is finished. I have spent months with these characters and am especially fond of Eizer Griggs. A fantasy, I know, but a labor of love. Happy holiday to you! S.
Thanks to YOU Mark, for sticking with it. It is not a story for everyone in 2023. I know that. Please be sure to catch this brief explanation of who I wrote this story for, and why. It answers a lot of questions. https://sharronbassano.substack.com/p/katy-writing-her-last-book
Their loss. I think too many people think stories have to follow some formula or include certain things to be good or, worse, commercial. Writers should tell the story they want to tell the way they want to tell it. Substack is perfect for that.
I am glad you wrote a positive, character-based story. It didn't need any explosions, aliens, or current times dramas to work for me. I don't care much for "ripped from the headlines" or "gritty" modern fiction. I want to be transported to other times or worlds when when I read fiction. I want to experience new things. If I want to get depressed, I can watch the news or go on social media. 🤣
Right you are! Lets hear it for Snoffduffle, Peanutbutter and Bartle Clunes! Joy to the world, I say! Toss out the TV, throw away the newspaper, don't cry over things you cant change, offer help locally where you can actually make a difference... And that includes writing gleefully. Let's start a movement.
I loved meeting all the folks of Riles Crossing - thank you for introducing us.
Thank you, Janice. I will miss the whole tribe. I have lived with them for quite a while and now feel a big empty space. Happy holiday to you!
I can certainly imagine the empty space. Happy Holidays to you as well.
Thank you Sharron for such a beautiful story of Hope, Love, Community, Nature and much more! I’ll be rereading it all again soon!
Much gratitude for you sharing and his!
Debbi

I hate to see it end. I miss reading more of this story already.
Such a delightful, heartwarming story. A community of good people who love each other.
Thanks for writing it, Sharron. 🤓
