Splendid. You don't even need binoculars to follow him around. Can't imagine you get anything else done all day. Maybe during his multiple naps there is a moment or two for dishes and straightening up the place. Keep that pencil sharp. I see kinship in Hansel and KittyBoy. The tall flower stalks int he kitchen garden will be shaved down very soon, so following them iwll be a bit easier. KittyBoy bolts out the door and disappears down the barn path, later found guarding the water bowl. (from Hansel?) or maybe just liking the proximity....mere turn of the head to have a lick. Algae adds flavor to frog water but it goes stale quickly. The frogs don't mind but I do. Leaves thinning out. There are FIVE squirrel nests in the maple outside the kitchen window. Mimi, Goldie and Blondie were doing their job before they timed out this year, about 20yrs each. 3 less dishes breakfast and supper. 2 left out of 9. I get sad over it sometimes but they had amazing lives. I'm old too so we match.
Ah - the never ending saga of the Belshaw Cats. You have lost a lot of them over the years, Kate, but mostly through old age. They are a happy, working bunch and no doubt more will appear to take the place of those who have gone before…
Maurice fits the finicky feline lifestyle follows the trails and scent, patrols his territory, grabs a bite to eat beetle crunch Halloween treat. Set in ways only an owner can enjoy. But wandering around I hope no coyotes to be found. Saber tooth lions are gone. Watch him more closely.
"Bruce looked bored, so I entertained him by trying to catch the fuzzy chicken on a string."..such a cat thing!! I love the way "Maurie" does his favorite things "for Bruce."
Maurice makes Buda look like a sedentary lump, so boring in his meditative state. Then again, he learned very quickly that if he minds his own garden space, the other cats won't beat the crap out of him. I love peeking into Maurice's day book, though, and how well he treats his human. Bruce is a lucky mortal. If only he'd get better food.
SUCH a great story! Loved this day-in-the-life of Maurice - I hadn't seen it before!
Plenty of lines made me laugh out loud, but this one's my favourite: "It is a bonding ritual I do for Bruce. It makes him feel needed." That's 100% cat-titude right there! 🤣
Biting off the heads and leaving the bodies as a gift---hilarious. Trying to let Bruce know the cat food sucks with subtle hints like only eating the gravy, so feline. Watched the black beetle, then ate it. I love the matter-of-fact, ho-hum tone of Maurice. He is really a cool cat. Keep coming back, Maurice, we love you.
Thank you, Ken. I like old Maurice, too, though I have to admit, he is fictitious and made up of a melange of cats I have known and loved. On the other hand, Raymond is a real cat.

Thanks for caring about his safety, Richard. He rarely wanders further than the alley. Chicken-heart is his middle name…
That's quite a schedule and responsibility that Maurice has. Who says "Cats don't do much?"
And yet, there is always time for one more nap. I am learning from the nap-master. Thanks Ron!
I'm also learning from a nap master at my house. Maybe not only for cats?

Just trying to live up to his Housemates Agreement and add value to Bruce’s pitiful life. Especially kind to sleep with him…

Bruce bought a CASE of Maurice's favorite Fancy Feast, fool that he is. After two days, Maurie decided he didn't like it any more...
Well, that's a cat for you. 🤣
Cats. Now I know what they do for a living.
90% napping, but with one eye open.
Enjoyed immensely. Thank you Sharron.
Thank you Yael, for reading this foolishness and for your sweet comments
Ah Maurice, You sure are busy - and so nice of you to take such lovely care of Bruce. Bella and I admire your style. Bailey (Janice is my human.)
🩷👍🏻
