Thank you Scott. I think it is a window into the typical social life of the young these days. Reminds me of Russian roulette, but, you know, maybe less risky. Maybe. Thanks for reading my little tales. I sure liked YOUR last one. I have shared your motorcycle tales book with three people.
I went on one date, arranged by my father. Can't imagine why. Kid kissed me at the house... ICK. That was the end of that. Makes me shivver to think about it. He didn't even come up to my shoulders.
20 yrs later I saw a man coming toward me over a hill. It made me gasp.... That's HIM. I knew I'd loved him in a past life. Couldn't shake it. He's been my love 40 years in this life. Very happy us. )))
I like the way both characters decide early-on to drop all pretenses. The girl describing her chaotic apartment, the boy when he says, "By the way, this photo of me was taken yesterday. For what it's worth, that's exactly how I look."
Love the embedded humor; "Tail of Two Cities." Missed it the first time.
Mismatch? Not so sure. If nothing else, the boy may end up with a hipper hair style.
Actually, the more I think about it, there may be more to this story than I envisioned. They could possibly share a few, ahem, odd passions they have yet to discover. Disc golf? Waffles? Lizards? Possibilities are endless.
Thank you, Tim. It was just a short glimpse into the lives of these two. I hope they find what they are looking for. I appreciate you coming back to read at 🍁Leaves!
Hey! Thanks for that! Glad to see you back here, Wade. I think this story is finished... unless I can come up with something weird for these two. Some bizarre point of connection... I wonder what that might be?
Loved the dialogue between characters, Sharron! It was very realistic. I also felt I learned some things from them based on what they decided to reveal and how they typed. (Not that spelling is a reflection of someone’s intelligence, but still...)
You are such a busy man, Justin. I am always delighted that you can find the time to comment on my stories. It's always such a challenge to write dialog for characters who are not of my generation or gender! Thank you for the encouragement! Great bunch of "50-words" this time! It is fun taking part.
I love reading your stories! Sometimes it’s difficult squeezing in time for everything, so by default I simply sleep less. 😄 And yes, I thought the stories were delightful!
I really enjoyed this Sharron. Loved the dialog and how you developed these characters in just a few words. Good Job.

Thanks so much for your support and help. I appreciate it.

.Great story, Kate! He IS a real heart throb, no doubt about it. And very handy with tools and horses. You got lucky. So did he.

You have a real talent for getting the reader engaged and wanting more of the story.

Honesty works most of the time. And opposites do attract. My wife of 42 years will confirm that. I’m rooting for them. 😉
Thanks, Mark, for coming back to read at 🍁Leaves. Glad you liked this little story! 42 years! Wow! Congratulations!
