In my twenties I was watching from the north rim seeing the sun rise. A clear vision of awe with more than fifty words expressed. Hard to convey beauty.
I have two ‘up to 2000 word’ pieces to finish by the weekend. Nearly there, just picking at threads now. Trying to not look at the flash fiction prompts!!
It is hard to believe how well you captured the awesomeness of the Canyon (and for that matter the beauty of Utah National Parks) in words. And in only 50 words.
Nice. I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time at 61. Very impressive and awe inspiring. Certainly worthy of some tears. But if I am being honest, I thought Zion canyon was prettier and impacted me more than the Grand Canyon.
Perhaps because we were down in the canyon at Zion and hiked up the canyon wall at Angel’s Landing. And did the Virgin River hike. Both were awesome.
But The Grand Canyon is indeed a wonder! As is your story. 🤓
Zing! Reminds me of how I felt when seeing waterfalls pouring out of the red cliffs of Zion into the Emerald Pools. Swarms of tourists all around me as I wept. Nature Show indeed.
I felt the same way when we walked in a redwood grove recently. I’ve been around them my whole life but now as I am approaching 80, I see them differently and am in awe.
I think the way we see everything is changing with age. Time is running out and we take time now to look and really see. Nature and family - the top of this list

Neither pictures nor film nor words show the sheer immensity of this wonder. I cried like a baby.
Oh my God, Sharron! You have put into words the feeling. This is it, the “awe”! Just perfect!
Thanks, Sharon
Gorgeous
Thanks, Barrie. I am trying to finish a longer, more arduous piece and I keep getting side tracked with these microfictions.

That's a very wholesome reaction. It's beautiful! ❤️
I thought so too! Thank you, Malayka.
The glory of creation, yes.
I am reminded of Samuel Morse's question "What hath God wrought?"
O YEah... Its like that. There's a lot of people who need to see this and stop being stupid.
Thank you, Kate. One sees photos and reads descriptions, but it is impossible to foresee what you will find there. I could hardly breathe.
I only saw it once, in 1977. I think if I went back I’d feel like I was seeing it for the first time too.
No doubt. It is mind-blowing.
Beautiful
Thanks, Carol!
Boy oh boy. The Grand Canyon will do that to you. And you don't have to be 80. Very nice, Sharron!
If you have never seen this wonder, you cannot truly imagine it. Photos do not even come close... Thanks James.

Thank you, Wade. You know what I am talking about!
If could handle heights better now, I would return for another wonderful visit at the Grand Canyon. It truly is breathtaking. You captured it.
Wow! Thank you, Carol.

SOunds like a real adventure. Might make a great post!
Good idea.

Oooo! I can just imagine!
Beautiful, Sharron. The Grand Canyon will do that to you but only someone like you can express that in so few words.
Thank you for always coming over here to leaves, Jim! I appreciate your comments so much.

Thank you for this preview of heaven, Sharron.
