GORGEOUS!!!! I remember this absolutely brilliant story - kudos to Gerald for 'accidentally' putting himself in the position of having to order pizza! 🤣
Haha, Sharron. This reminds me of the first time I cooked for my future in-laws. I was cooking a tri-tip roast on the grill and was in the kitchen helping Erin get the table set when future father in law ran inside and yelled "The grill is on fire!" Everyone enjoyed their pizza that night.
Wise choice. As a student-days pizza parlor worker, who attended to waves of hungries, during a 12-hour shift , I say "Good Job, my friend!" I would have done the exact same....
I am with you, J.P. Life is short.
A lesson in futility....trying to make souffle, especially for in-laws!
Yes, more than he could handle. Backyard barbecue might have been more successful.
Classic recipe usually fails. The room has to be HOT to keep the temp as close as possible. They always forget to add the Xanthan gum for stability.
Ah, the collapsed souffle. An image ripe for metaphor. 😌
Only you would get that. Clever girl.
Cute!
Haha! You can never go wrong with pizza.
Easy-peasey. He should have done that in the first place rather than waste the eggs.
LOL, Sharron! Very funny! I would have opted for the pizza first.
I like to think that Gerald had already picked out the pizza he wanted before he started whisking those egg whites...! 🤣
Yes, I think so too! A back-up plan can't hurt!
🤣
You bet! To hell with cooking. I think maybe he hoped to impress his in-laws.

I probably would've started with the speed dial! Family cooking, no joke!
Hah! Then we both agree. If it were MY in-laws, I would take them OUT to dinner. No mishaps.
I bet Gerald had it planned that way - all along.
Right you are!
I don't think I have ever eaten a soufflé. But I have eaten lots of pizza.

Excellent! Glad it worked out! I am sure it has become an oft-told family story by now. Hope you had a fine week away!
